One 60-day cruise circling the Land Down Under was terminated days after the fatal incident of an elderly woman who was left behind by the vessel on a remote tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been walking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the excursion for a rest. The liner departed without her and returned after some time after the personnel discovered the passenger was not present.

An extensive search operation discovered her remains the following day.

Officials are examining the incident, alongside police and the state coroner.

Head of the cruise operator stated that guests and staff on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the continuation of the journey had been terminated due to the "unfortunate death and earlier technical problems".

Via official communication, he mentioned that guests would be given a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to organize the return journeys of the individuals via specially arranged planes".

Authorities also released an updated announcement, and said they had "issued a order to the Master" prohibiting any further travelers from getting on the vessel.

The official said that they would attend the ship in the port city upon its coming back.

The ship first departed the Australian port on October 24th, and was just two days into the voyage at the point of the elderly woman's death. The remote island was the first stop on the journey.

The daughter of the victim said that her family was "shocked and distressed that the liner left the location after an organised tour without my mother".

Via her announcement, she portrayed her mum as an "energetic 80-year-old" who was a affiliate of a hiking group.
